Pricing Pledge
camprice.com promises that the valuations given in its online database will be based upon the most up to date information available, posted in the most timely fashion and with the greatest care. Further, though pricing opinions from subscribers are always welcomed, camprice.com will not be pressured by outside forces when arriving at valuations. All prices which appear in the camprice.com database are based on three important factors.
- Actual camera sales results. whether by auction, camera show, direct dealer sales, or collector to collector sales.
- Past history of a particular camera, or type of camera.
For example, stereo photography has come into and gone out of fashion at least three times since the turn of the century. Were it to experience yet another revival, one would reasonably expect prices to rise for usable stereo cameras. A more concrete example, and one which can be easily seen today, is the current rage for simple plastic Diana cameras for use by "Art" photographers. The actual price for Diana cameras far exceeds any estimation that could have been made two years ago, simply because current use was not as widespread then, as it is now.
- Our experience in camera collecting.
This not only involves buying, and sometimes selling cameras, but invariably requires the "feeling" for cameras and their prices. This may be the one thing that makes us so different from the other camera price guides. While they might try to dazzle you with expectations of accuracy and secret formulas, we strongly believe that a calculator is only a tool, and when arriving at a final price for listing in the camprice.com database, experience, intelligence and common sense are the most important assets anyone serious about collecting can have. When no sales results are available, as can be the situation with very rare cameras, the resulting valuations you find on camprice.com are based solely on experience, history and in many cases, consensus of opinion in discussion with members of the collecting community.
camprice.com has absolutely no hidden agenda. Even though Camera Dealers are welcomed to subscribe to our service, we are not dealers, we do not represent dealers, while we feel fortunate to count some well established dealers as friends, we have no hidden personal association with dealers and we can unequivocally say that we will never be dealers. In arriving at prices for Camprice.com, a dealer's opinion counts as much as that of any other individual collector.
At camprice.com, our ethics are clear. When asked for a valuation of a camera, we will give our most current and most thoughtful response regardless of what others may think. It's up to you as subscribers to tell us that we are right or wrong. If you disagree, tell us and we will listen. Email: price@camprice.com with your opinions. You can make a difference!

At the end of the day, the prices listed in camprice.com are the results of decisions made by the
editor. He alone is responsible for the numbers that appear on your screen. All errors you might find
are his and his alone.
