The history of exposure meters from 1818 to 1970 is presented for the
first time. Using German
and English text side by side, Podlogar traces the development of exposure
calculators and meters
including cameras with built-in exposure meters. The 30 page listing
of meters and cameras in the
back of the book will be particularly useful for collectors wishing
to branch out into this, as yet
wide open field. There are some errors, but as Podlogar remarks in
his introduction "...if I would
wait to publish this book until each dubious item was cleared up, publishing
would postponed
until eternity..." A CD edition is available which includes over 600
illustrations, many in color.
