May 1st, 1998, Shanghai China 5000 copies printed
I was surprised to find this book. I had never heard of it before, and I always have friends in China on the look-out for interesting camera books for me. There are lots of full color pictures, many of which are copied from somewhere, I just can't put my finger on where. Other pictures show cameras in such poor condition that I have no doubt they are originals made for this book. In some ways picturing not very rare of cameras in less than perfect condition points up the state of collecting in China today. The "average" Mainland China collector values anything he can get his hands on, in any condition he can find it in. Collectors in the West are spoiled in comparison. My grasp of written Chinese is minimal at best, so I can't offer much insight into what the author is trying to say. The layout and printing are excellent. Considering that I bought my copy for only US$14, so I'm happy to have it just for its novelty value.
